I love April. For me, it is the start of the spring season here in the St. Louis area because the grass is greening up nicely, the daffodils are blooming, and some of our trees are starting to produce flowers. Meaning lots of new and beautiful color to look at. I am infatuated with how color works together. I used to be a floral designer before I became a full time mom; I got to play with mixing different colors/flowers all day and be creative, have fun and get paid for it. So in honor of this color celebration I decided that I would base my contest on it. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post and tell me what you favorite color combinations are. For example, one of my favorites is blue, green, with hints of yellow. By leaving a comment you will have your name entered into a drawing. To get you name entered into it a second time post about this contest on your blog linking it back to this post. For those of you that I have seen comment on here before I will add your name in a third time because I am grateful to have you as a reader and I value you more than you realize.
The contest will last until April 10 and I will announce the winner on Friday April 11. The prize will be a $25 gift certificate to The Loopy Ewe. The reason that I picked the Loopy Ewe in particular is because Sheri has such wonderful customer service and I want to support a local yarn store. :) I think I have covered everything but if you have any questions feel free to email me. I have two favorites and I am not sure which one I like better. The first one is just all differant shades of pink together and the second one is oranges and browns together.

I love coral, turquoise, chocolate brown, maybe beige, and lime green together. I am not sure there are flowers that color, but I like those colors together and hope maybe to knit them up in a sweater or scarf someday.
I am so excited for spring too. Its long overdue!
Red and orange witha little splash of the right pink always catch my eye. And a nice light blue and brown will always get me going! But color is so important! My house is FULL of colors on the wall-eggplant, wine, sage and orange are all colors of rooms on my main floor! All jewel toned- so they work together!

I love combinations that are evocative of specific places, like sandy beiges, watery blues and greens, with a hint of white for the froth of the waves. Mossy greens, blue-grey slate and pale grey granite, with flashes of gold/orange and white for the carp in the pond.

I love green with anything! Especially greens and blues and since having kids, I've been drawn a LOT to bright green and purple together. (Buzz Lightyear kinda colors!) :D

Robin's egg blue and chocolate brown! So lovely together. I also like aqua and red.
There are lots of color combos that I like, but some of my favourites involve brown - brown and blue, or brown and plum, for example.
I like a lot of color combinations mostly involving blues but recently I keep thinking of a deep aubergine purple contrasted by a dark chocolate brown.
I love yellow-green with brown.

My favourites are like fresh lavender-crisp mauves, light purples and moist willow greens. The combo looks absolutely sumptuous when underscored with a tiny touch of earth browns. Although I love combos of primary colors and the colors you find in the Crayola pack of eight crayons, I adore autumn colors: oranges, reds, golds, burgandy, deep greens with maybe a little brown or blue added in. Yummy!

For the longest time, I've had this idea in my head of a very clear water blue, mixed with an icy yellow tone and deep mulberry. It probably sounds gross, but I've thought about it for awhile.
I also love purple and gold combos. They look so regal. Also, blue and silver.
I like pinky and green. Also orange and yellowy combos are high on my list. Especially for socks.

I love the combination of dark blue and dark green, or of green and brown, or of blue and grey or black. I also love blue, green, and red together.
I like things combined with chocolate: lime & chocolate; robin egg blue & chocolate; pink & chocolate.
I also prefer subtle varigations like 'semi-solids' where the colours seem to seamlessly melt into one another. My fave is various shades of copper.

Lately I'm really digging the combination of robin's egg blue or aqua with brown.
I like this idea for a contest. I've just begun hand-dying yarn this year, because I'm SO picky about colors! I particularly like lime green with orange, highlighted with yellow and/or red-orange, maybe coral. Also like pink with light green, like pale watermelon or the peppermint ice cream I used to get at the drugstore in days long past.

What a nice idea for a contest! I think one of my favorite color combos is turquoise and red. It reminds me of the actual stone turquoise, and how it can come in such a wide range of tones of those two colors.

I like dark violet blues and yellows...think of the blue Douglas and their yellow and white throats.
I like shades of blue with green like the ocean and also robin's egg with dark brown.

My SIL was a floral designer, too! She loved it until they made her a manager :) I was always envious of her getting to play with flowers all day long.
As for color combos, I love red and anything that looks good with it and pink and anything that looks good with it. And red and pink together! Yes, I have a one-track mind when it comes to colors. But I like purples and yellows together, too.

I'm a fan of green, brown, and black, though it does tend to make one look like a tree. Green and purple are also great together.
There are so many great color combinations out there that it's hard to pick just one. But if I had to choose, I might say chocolates and soft blues, or maybe just earthtones in general.

I have two colour combos that i love one would be turquoise blue, and bright sunflower yellow, the other one would be jewel purple with deep pink.
I like shades of colors especially when they lean towards black. Red, blue and green being my favorite - but not together.
These days I really like shades of turquoise, purple and green together.

My favorite color combination is very similar to yours: blue and green, sometimes with white or yellow. I also am partial to a light purple with deep blues. And if I'm feeling bold, I like yellow, orange, and red.

i'm in a colors round robin right now (for mixed media artists) and i've been thinking a lot about color. i have two favorites. first, periwinkle and silver. and second, robins egg blue, white, ivory, and brown -- the color of a tea stain.
I'm a huge fan of pink and brown myself. Although mostly for accessories and items for the home; not so much on myself. :)

My color choices and preferences change all the time but I tend to steer toward teals and greens... with a suprise pop of color like red or yellow.

In the spring, it's definately pale yellow with white, off white, and a hint of light to grass green. Summer time is hot pink, orange, and sunshine yelloe. I LOVE fall colors, the rust, deep reds, browns, it's just beautiful. In the winter I go with darker combinations like black and brick or black and deep blue. Great contest!

I have never really thought of what specific color combination I like the most but I do know I lean towards the fall, autum colors. I love orange, so anything fall with oranges, rust, maroon, black, yellow/golds, not to fond of brown but it does fit it there also.
One of my favorite color combination is purplish-pink and black.
I absolutely adore crimson and golden yellow together; you know, like on a day lily? And pale straw and crimson is a must - the contrast is gorgeous! Of course, green and pink always look amazing (I like it before it became the trend; LOL :D). And the colors of a flowering dogwood... **happy sigh!**

Oh, I just love colors... But right now, I seem to be on a light teal and purple kick!
Ocean colors-- anything from tropical turquoises and teals together to cold wintry watery greys and greens.
For flowers, my absolute favorite are my tulips (only seen one year in abundance now that the deer have found them :( ) that are deep yellow mixed with a coral red.
My favorite color combination has yellows, oranges, reds, pinks and then a dark plum/blue/green. Mmmm- very fall like. Thank you for the contest- what a nice idea!

It's hard to choose just one...brown and teal is always a good choice but I love to put bright orange, pink and yellow together too. And...a little boring maybe but...I love shades of green and beige...reminds me of nature.

I just remembered an adventure in color that started as a prank: My friend Emma (Dragonfibers) is an indie dyer. I asked her to do me something bright - orange or green. She put both together as a laugh, but the joke was on her because for some reason I loved it! Imagine brilliant orange and emerald. I wound up making a little purse. It's perfect for summer!
